European Communication Award
On the evening of the first day of the European Communication Summit, the European Association of Communication Directors (EACD) gathers about 300 leading personalities from business, media, politics and society for a fun, glamorous and fascinating networking evening on July 2nd, 2009.
The European Communication Award is presented every year to an individual or organisation which has made an original and solid contribution to communications across borders and emphasized the notion of a Europeanised format of communication and its ever growing importance.
Winner 2009
euronews won the European Communication Award in 2009, having gone from strength to strenght following its rebranding in 2008. Its excellent and clear EU coverage brings European issues to the fore to audiences across the continent and around the globe, and it was recognised for its efforts to communicate the European idea.
Winner 2008

By successfully launching and managing one of Europe's key unifying elements, our single currency, the ECB was instrumental in communicating the European idea. The award was presented to ECB Director of Communications Elisabeth Ardaillon-Pourier, on 24th April at the Concert Noble in Brussels.
