Seda Pumpyanskaya
Special Advisor, Council of Europe
Seda Pumpyanskaya is the Senior Adviser to the Secretary General of the Council of Europe on Communication and Outreach. In the last five years she carried out the overall communication reform of the Council of Europe, producing the first communication strategy in the history of the organisation. Previously she had three subsequent senior positions, as Chief of Public Information/Spokesperson for the United Nations and worked in such conflict areas as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Guatemala. Her strength is strategic communication and change management, as in all these posts she was sent to revamp communication policies of the organisation and introduce modern marketing tools. She has previous experience of more than 10 years in both print and broadcast journalism for news organisations ranging from BBC to El País to Newsweek.
